Terms & Conditions — Coaching and Educational Services
Vertical Ascents Training LLC
Last updated: 21 October 2026
These Terms & Conditions govern the remote climbing coaching services and educational programs provided by Vertical Ascents Training LLC (“Vertical Ascents”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
By purchasing a coaching service or educational program, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
1. Our Services
Vertical Ascents Training LLC provides remote climbing coaching and educational services designed to help climbers better understand and develop their climbing and training.
Our coaching involves working with clients to identify goals, evaluate their climbing and training, develop appropriate practice strategies, and make informed decisions about their development.
Services may include individual coaching conversations, analysis of climbing footage and training records, personalized recommendations, exercise programming, and ongoing feedback.
Our coaching and educational services are delivered remotely through a combination of phone calls, video consultations (including Google Meet), audio messages (including WhatsApp), and online coaching platforms such as TrueCoach and Notion.
The methods of communication and program delivery may vary depending on the service purchased and the individual coaching arrangement.
Clients remain responsible for their own training decisions and participation in climbing activities.
Our services do not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, treatment or injury rehabilitation.
We will provide our services with reasonable care and skill.
2. Remote Coaching and Climbing Facilities
Vertical Ascents provides remote coaching and educational services. We do not provide on-site supervision or manage the safety of clients' climbing activities.
Clients are responsible for assessing their own abilities, training environments and participation in climbing and physical training.
Some programs are offered in partnership with climbing gyms. In these arrangements, Vertical Ascents provides remote coaching to participating gym members.
Partner gyms remain responsible for the operation and maintenance of their facilities and equipment.
3. Acknowledgement of Risks
Climbing and physical training involve inherent risks, including the possibility of serious injury.
Clients are required to review and accept our separate Liability Waiver and Acknowledgement of Risks before enrolling.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or restricts liability where doing so would be unlawful.
4. Fees and Payments
The price and payment arrangements for each coaching service or educational programme are provided before purchase.
Our individual coaching services are generally offered through recurring monthly subscriptions.
Guided educational programmes are generally purchased through a one-time payment and delivered progressively over a specified period.
Subscription payments are collected automatically according to the billing arrangement selected at enrolment.
We will provide at least 30 days' notice of any increase to an existing subscription price.
5. Individual Coaching — Cancellation and Refunds
Clients may cancel their monthly coaching subscription at any time by emailing info@verticalascents.com.
Cancellation prevents future subscription charges. Coaching access ordinarily continues until the end of the period already paid for.
We offer a first-month satisfaction guarantee for individual coaching.
If you are dissatisfied with your coaching for any reason during your first month, you may request a full refund of your first month's payment, including where coaching has already begun.
Refund requests relating to subsequent months will be considered individually.
These policies do not limit any additional rights available under applicable consumer law.
6. Guided Programmes — Cancellation and Refunds
Guided educational programmes are generally purchased through a one-time payment.
If you cancel before the programme begins, we will provide a full refund.
Once a programme has begun, refunds are not generally available under our voluntary refund policy. However, we may consider requests individually depending on the circumstances.
This policy does not limit statutory cancellation rights or other remedies available under applicable consumer law.
7. Statutory Cancellation Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have additional legal rights to cancel an online purchase.
For UK consumers, this generally includes a right to cancel a distance contract for services within 14 days of entering into the contract, without giving a reason.
If you expressly request that we begin providing services during the statutory cancellation period and subsequently exercise your right to cancel, you may be required to pay a proportionate amount for services already provided, where permitted by law and subject to the applicable requirements.
Where a service has been fully performed during the cancellation period, different rules may apply to the continuation of cancellation rights, including requirements concerning your express request and acknowledgement.
If you are entitled to a refund under applicable consumer law, we will provide it in accordance with those requirements.
These statutory rights are separate from, and are not limited by, our voluntary cancellation and refund policies.
To exercise your statutory cancellation rights, you may email info@verticalascents.com with a clear statement that you wish to cancel. You may also use any applicable statutory model cancellation form.
8. Communication and Coaching Support
We aim to respond to client messages within 48 hours.
Response times may occasionally be longer during weekends, holidays, travel or other periods of limited availability.
The level and frequency of communication may vary depending on the coaching service or programme purchased.
9. Interruptions and Changes to Services
If we are temporarily unable to provide an agreed coaching service, we will notify affected clients and make reasonable arrangements to address the interruption.
Depending on the circumstances, this may include extending the coaching period, providing a credit or issuing an appropriate refund.
We may make reasonable changes to coaching methods, platforms or programme delivery, provided these changes do not materially reduce the service purchased.
If we discontinue a service before completing the period already paid for, we will provide an appropriate refund for the unused portion.
10. Intellectual Property
Training programmes, educational materials, videos, written resources and other materials produced by Vertical Ascents remain our intellectual property unless otherwise stated.
Clients may use these materials for their own personal climbing and training.
Materials may not be reproduced for distribution, publication, sale or other commercial purposes without our permission.
11. Privacy and Client Information
We collect and use personal information to provide coaching services, administer programmes and operate our business.
Information about how we handle personal data is provided in our separate Privacy Policy.
12. Coaching Outcomes
We aim to help clients improve their understanding, decision-making and climbing performance.
However, progress depends on many factors, including individual circumstances, participation, training history and the demands of climbing.
We cannot guarantee specific performance outcomes.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects statutory rights relating to services that are not provided with reasonable care and skill.
